Real Life Foundations: September Group Class
Oroville, California

Dates: September 12, September 19, September 26, and October 10
Time: Saturdays at 7:00 AM
Duration: 4 Weeks

This 4-week group series is designed for dogs and owners looking to build practical skills that carry over into everyday life. The focus is not simply on teaching commands, but on helping dogs learn how to function calmly and successfully in the world around them while helping owners better understand and communicate with the dog in front of them.

Throughout this series we will focus on engagement, leash skills, structured movement, calm state of mind, and neutrality around distractions. We will be building skills week by week so each class progresses naturally into the next.

What you will learn:

Week 1: Foundations and Engagement

  • Marker clarity and communication

  • Building engagement with your dog

  • Introducing place work and structure

  • Understanding how to create focus

Week 2: Movement and Leash Skills

  • Structured walking techniques

  • Leash handling mechanics

  • Transitions between movement and stationary exercises

  • Understanding arousal levels during training

Week 3: Neutrality and Working Around Distractions

  • Learning to exist around dogs and people without needing interaction

  • Understanding thresholds

  • Advocacy and handler positioning

  • Building calm decision making

Week 4: Real World Application and Troubleshooting

  • Combining learned skills together

  • Working through practical real-life situations

  • Individual coaching and troubleshooting

  • Creating a plan moving forward

Our goal is to create better communication, better understanding, and more confidence for both dogs and owners.

All equipment and training tools are welcome. Training should fit the individual dog and handler team. If you have questions regarding equipment, I’m happy to help guide you.

The Holiday Survival Guide for Dogs With Big Feelings

The holidays can be overwhelming for dogs with big feelings. Guests, decorations, disrupted routines, travel, and increased activity can make even the most well-intentioned dog struggle. This 4-week group class is designed for reactive, anxious, and easily overwhelmed dogs, helping both ends of the leash better understand what is happening and how to work through it. We'll focus on understanding reactivity, building engagement around triggers, creating neutrality around distractions, and preparing dogs and owners for the challenges of the holiday season. Small group format with individualized coaching and practical real-world solutions.

Spring Scurry

Join us for the 2026 Spring Scurry 5K, a relaxed, family-friendly Easter morning event designed for people and their dogs to enjoy the outdoors together. This is not a timed race, just a chance to walk, jog, or stroll at your own pace and celebrate spring with our community.

Participation is free for those who simply want to join the walk. For $25, you can register to receive a commemorative event medal. Medal registrations must be completed by May 15 to guarantee availability. You guys can venmo me for this!

All ages, experience levels, and well-mannered, leashed dogs are welcome.

Just a friendly reminder to please pick up after your dog and pack out your poop. Regrettably, we have encountered limitations in accessing certain walking areas due to other dog owners' lack of responsible waste management. It is important for our group to maintain a positive reputation, and we should strive to set a commendable example for fellow dog owners.

If you have a dog in board and train please let me know you will be attending and plan on arriving 30 minutes prior to start time to warm up
